She earned a place in the prestigious five-year integrated plastic and reconstructive surgery residency program at Mayo Hospital, Lahore, immediately after completing her house job where she actively participated in departmental and interdepartmental meetings as well as various research projects. Her presentations at interdepartmental meetings have garnered significant praise. She also received a prize for the best short paper presentation at the annual national plastic surgery meeting, PAPSCON 2020, for her research on "Comparison of Nanofat Grafting vs. Nanofat Grafting with PRP in Post-Burn Facial Scars." Fat grafting is of significant interest among both plastic surgeons and the general population owing to its versatility. With extensive experience in performing hundreds of fat transfers for cosmetic and reconstructive purposes, she has developed a keen interest in fat grafting procedures, whether for the face, breast, hands, buttocks, or any other body area. She firmly believes in keeping her results as natural as possible.
Dr. Hirra Alavi is trained in all aspects of aesthetic and reconstructive surgery, including microsurgery from the largest hospital of Pakistan. Her practice revolves around a wide range of Plastic Surgery procedures, focusing on cosmetic enhancements of the breast, body, and face. She holds a special interest in cosmetic and reconstructive surgeries of breast, and body contouring procedures following weight loss or childbirth. She believes these surgeries can significantly restore confidence and improve body image, which is invaluable. As a female plastic surgeon, she uniquely understands the concerns of women, offering empathetic and personalized care that is unparalleled.
After finishing her training, she cleared her exit exam from the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Pakistan. She is FCPS, Plastic Surgery. After her fellowship, she stays in touch with academics at a government hospital while managing her practice. Her excellent communication skills secured her a regular post as a Senior Registrar at a teaching hospital in Lahore, after ranking first across Punjab in the PPSC Senior Registrar interviews.
